Este encuentro, que esta destinado a investigadores en cualquier ámbito del Análisis Numérico para ecuaciones diferenciales parciales, tiene como objetivo fundamental crear una instancia de divulgación e interacción sobre los temas actualmente en desarrollo por parte de la comunidad nacional en el área. Un segundo objetivo, no menos importante, es motivar a estudiantes de pregrado avanzado y de postgrado a interesarse en el Análisis Numérico y sus múltiples aplicaciones.
First Chile-Japan Workshop on Nonlinear Elliptic a
This workshop is aimed to bring together experts in the field of nonlinear partial differential equations from Chile, Japan, and other countries. Workshop: Introduction to multivariate statistical
Entre el 24 y 27 de septiembre Johan Oja, ingeniero físico del Instituto Nacional de Investigación y Prueba (SP) de Suecia, realizará un taller introductorio al análisis estadístico multivariado, utilizando PCA (Principal Components Analysis) y PLS (Partial Least Regression). Durante la actividad, que se llevará a cabo en el CMM, los participantes también podrán conocer el software Simca-P.
Workshop: Data assimilation theory and application
This is the first SAEMC-IAI, STIC-AmSud Workshop. It´s main purpose is the stablishment of regional capabilities to address the enormous challenge of air quality degradation in South American megacities, which offers an opportunity to improve and enhance hitherto disperse research capabilities, accelerate local know-how and capabilities, and to produce scientifically sound and policy-relevant knowledge and tools.

Workshop on Rock Mechanics and Logistics in Mining
The purpose of this workshop is to foster discussions and exchanges of ideas among researchers coming from five Centers of Excellences (CMM, MASCOS, MATHEON, MITACS, and PIMS) located in different countries and strongly related in various ways to the mathematical modeling of problems arising in the mining industry. In many cases the planning, production, and logistics of copper mines are targeted in these investigations.
